Angel's Rest

Climbing the mountain,
I switched forth and back.
With shoes on for hiking
and water and packs.

Only 5 miles,
but oh what a hike.
Made me wish for a zipline,
a plane or a bike.

Exhausting and sweaty,
I started to doubt
I couldn't continue.
I was all tuckered out.

So I sat by the path,
too fatigued to stand up.
Too ashamed to turn back
from so close to the top.

Would I make it or fail?
Was I strong or too weak?
When I turned the next corner,
I had conquered the peak!

moral: Don't give up. You're almost there.

You're a Whiz-Kid who's plumb full of grit,
Full of projects and wisdom, and wit;
You're ready to do it;
You always stick to it;
You're the Engine that never says, "Quit"!

Hi Patty -
I notice that your lesson learned from your hike, "Don't give up. You're almost there!", seems to parallel with writing...

All the best,
